Yerevan, June 20. /Mediamax/. Armenia’s economic activity index in May 2011 has increased by 9.9%, as compared to May, 2010.

Mediamax reports that since early 2011, instead of publishing the GDP growth and decrease index, the National Statistical Service of Armenia publishes the economic activity index.

The volume of industrial production in May, 2011, made AMD 82bln 815.3mln, having increased by 25.1% as compared to May 2010.

0.1% increase, as compared to May 2010, was marked in the agricultural sector (AMD 52bln 257.8mln), 5.1% reduction was registered in the construction sphere (AMD 38bln 937mln).

The average monthly salary in Armenia in May 2011 has grown by 7.2%, as compared to the analogous period of 2010, thus making AMD 112 054 (USD 299).
