The bank was established as a closed joint stock company under the name Midland Armenia Bank J.S.C. in 1996 and was renamed HSBC Bank Armenia cjsc in 1999.

License N67 of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.

The bank is the member of SWIFT and Bankmail payment systems.

The bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC.
