Azerbaijani parliament approved changes and amendments to the Constitution, according to which the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) is renamed into the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

The bank was established basing on the presidential decree of February 11, 1992, on the basis of the State Bank, Promstroybank and Agroprombank of the former USSR.
