The Noyemberyan State College will obtain energy self-sufficiency through the joint efforts of Telcell and Shtigen Group. A 24,6 kW solar power station and a 300-liter solar water heater have been installed in the educational institution. The project, symbolically called Arevatsag (Sunrise), is implemented within the framework of the national corporate responsibility of the initiating companies, with the goal of establishing energy independence in the country through solar technologies, prioritizing border communities. Donations are encouraged to ensure the continuity of Arevatsag, and they can also be made through Telcell terminals and the Telcell Wallet app.“For 17 years, we’ve been helping to realize initiatives that contribute to the welfare of Armenia’s population. We urge other companies to also make investments and help the Noyemberyan State College gain energy self-sufficiency through solar technologies: this will create numerous opportunities for the students,” Telcell CEO Artyom Ghazaryan said.Shtigen Group Founding Director Hayk Shekyan in turn assured that the continuous course of the above-mentioned strategically-significant project, regardless of circumstances, is highly important. “We must unite efforts without wasting time or looking back in order to overcome the energy challenges facing our country. I am glad that the ranks of our partners include socially responsible companies like Telcell, which realizes the importance of energy stability,” the Shtigen Group Founding Director said. The solar power station and the water heater will meet the Noyemberyan State College energy needs for many years. As part of the project the college will also receive educational water heaters, didactic materials, safety systems (for working at height), educational materials, in order to also develop the renewable energy branch in the college.“There are over a dozen specialized departments, including renewable energy department, in the Noyemberyan State College. The nearly 2 million AMD in saved funds annually will be directed to the restoration of the specialized laboratory, upgrading of the material-technical base and acquisition of computer equipment. We also plan to award scholarships to distinguished students,” the educational institution’s Director Karen Nazaryan said.Within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation signed with Shtigen Group back in 2022, Telcell, the leading financial company, allocated 7,4 million AMD to the Arevatsag in Artsakh project in order for the Martuni Vocational College to fully transition to renewable energy. The project was not implemented due to the blockade and subsequent depopulation of Artsakh. Numerous projects were discussed over the past year to direct the donated funds for its purpose. As a result, the two companies chose the energy self-sufficiency project for the Noyemberyan State College, thus promoting not only the development of renewable energy but also the educational component.
