Yerevan, June 12 /Mediamax/. Deputies of the Armenian parliament Gagik Minasian and Khachatur Sukiasian welcomed today the appointment of Nerses Yeritsian for the position of the Minister of Trade and Economic Development of Armenia.

Mediamax reports that the MPs noted that they expect from the new Minister new reforms in economy, as Nerses Yeritsian is a “progressive reformer”.

Before being appointed the position of the Minister, Nerses Yeritsian occupied the position of the Councilor to the Chairman of the Armenian Central Bank.

Gagik Minasian, who headed the parliamentary committee on financial-crediting and budget issues, stated that the new Minister has the necessary potential for realizing economic reforms of second generation. The MP, in particular, stated the necessity of growth of Armenian producers’ competitive ability, increase the share of fiscal income to the GDP.

The honorary Chairman of “SIL” Concern Khachatur Sukiasian described Nerses Yeritsian as “the only reformer” within the present government. He expressed hope that the new Minister will use his many years’ experience in the Central Bank of Armenia and will actively promote the formation of the Armenian market of primary securities.
