The end of 2006 marks the first considerable date in the life of the first and the only specialized www.banks.am banking portal in Armenia, which has been worked out and is being managed by the Mediamax News Agency. We are half-year-old already.

The portal was launched in July 2006 and it proved its demand during the past 6 months. If in August and September the monthly number of www.banks.am visits stood at 5 thousand, in October-November period the index made 8 thousand and in December 2006, it exceeded the 10 thousand visits’ threshold.

Nevertheless, the mechanical growth of the visitors’ number has not been and is not an aim in itself for us. We think that more important is the fact that during the fist 6 months of its existence, the postal fulfilled the main tasks, set by the Mediamax agency.

Visiting www.banks.am, each citizen of Armenia, interested in this or that kind of banking and financial services will get full information. We gave gathered in one place the offers, existing on the market, leaving the right for choice to the potential customer. We are thanking all the banks and partner-organizations, which are kind enough to our periodical inquiries and which regularly present us with new information on their products and services, tariff and interest rates changes. We are sorry for the fact that, due to circumstances beyond our control, there is not yet the information on the services of “Bank Anelik” and “Ardshininvestbank” in the corresponding sections of our website.

The portal has become a useful tool for people, who are professionally occupied by financial and banking activities. Banking and economic news, operatively placed in the portal, have made www.banks.am the most favorite website of many bankers.

Our portal was also noticed by advertisers. The first advertising banner was placed in www.banks.am only a month after the launching of the portal. Today, the banners of the leading Armenian companies are being placed in the website and we express our sincere gratitude to them.

The www.banks.am internet portal is a living organism, and that means that during the coming year we will continue intensively developing. In particular, in the first quarter of 2007, the wap-version of our portal will be launched, which will simplify the access to it from mobile phones.
