Russian robot manufacturer Promobot has announced that its robots will be employed at an Oman bank. Banki.ru reports that the company has signed a contract on pilot project with the National Bank of Oman. The contract concerns installation of robot consultants at the bank’s branches.The project is implemented in the scope of the country’s digitization program. Russian robots will consult clients, tell them about the bank’s services, answer questions and help fill in documents and applications, thus easing some of the workload off the bank staff. 01.07.2019 | 09:36 Humanoid robot starts working at bank The project is divided into several stages. First, the robot will start working as a consultant in August of 2019. Three months later the bank management will assess the robot’s effectiveness and make the decision on scaling. Second, the robots (40 items in total) will start working in all main branches of the bank. The contract is worth over USD 1 million.“The Promobots speak several languages, which is very important for Oman. The robot must speak English, French, German, and most importantly, Arabic. The Russian robot is the only robot consultant that speaks Arabic,” the bank said.Promobot has said that Russian robots have been working for some time already at the Arabian Peninsula: clinics in Kuwait, schools in Saudi Arabia, and the Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world. The company was founded in Perm in 2015. Today it is the largest manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Russia, Northern and Eastern Europe.
