Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited UWC Dilijan International School today and got acquainted with the process of construction there.UWC Dilijan will open its doors in September 2014. It will receive 90 pupils in the first academic year, and the number is expected to reach 650 pupils from 60 countries in 2023. 90% of the pupils will study at the school free of charge owing to the scholarships granted by the donors. “Construction with the help of modern technologies which haven’t been used in Armenia yet is being carried out. It's important for us as we will be able to apply the experience and knowledge in other construction objects as well. A large complex will operate in the territory of overall 64 thousand square meters. Currently, around 1000 workplaces were created owing to the object but what is more important is that when it opens, workplaces requiring additional higher qualifications with higher salary will be created. This object is serious progress for Armenia”, said the PM.According to Tigran Sargsyan, Armenian citizens will appreciate the significance of the school not only in the life of Dilijan but Armenia “as it will have its own place and significance on the world education map and will meet international standards”. The PM said that the Armenian government will discuss the program for development of territories adjacent to UWC Dilijan during one of the upcoming sessions and the state will allocate the necessary funds to its implementation.
