Yerevan /Mediamax/. Iran provides gas to various countries at different prices, but gas price discounts are available for friendly states, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Reisi stated it at his meeting with the journalists.

The Ambassador didn’t comment on at what price Iran provides gas to other countries.

Answering the question whether Iran offers a higher price to Armenia than Russia, the Ambassador Mohammad Reisi answered it wasn't clear at the time: “We should first clarify how much Russian and Iranian gas costs. Negotiations should be held, and everything will be clear upon signing the agreement”.

According to him, there are no talks between the parties on providing gas for money.

The Ambassador also touched upon “Gas for Electricity” agreement signed between Iran and Armenia noting that they are committed to the agreement signed years ago and though there were changes in prices over years, Iran keeps up with the previously set prices, although don't need electricity and produce their own.

The Ambassador also touched upon the reduced number of Iranian tourists to Armenia explaining it by the sanctions applied by the international community.

“These sanctions affect the society. Bank transfers be simplified for the citizens after the sanctions are eliminated. Three years ago, the sanctions were not this strict, and only during Nowruz over 1000 people used to arrive in Armenia, which yields great benefits to the Armenian economy,” Reisi added.
