Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Armenian government approved the competitive and long-term air transportation program and relevant actions. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan recalled that upon the Armenian President’s decree, the National Competitiveness Council of Armenia signed a contract with McKinsey company which worked out a strategy of reforms in the sphere of air transportation services.“According to the recommendations of the best specialists in the world, Armenia should start liberalizing the sphere which will allow boosting GDP growth, creating new jobs, make air transportation more comfortable and affordable. These are the main provisions set by the strategy. We have the chance to work with McKinsey specialists within extra 5 days to make the document maximum localized. I would like to ask all the interested bodies to work with the Minister of Economy. McKinsey specialists will be ready to provide additional consultations on implementation of the program if needed", noted Tigran Sargsyan. Minister of Economy Vahram Avanesyan stated today that the results of the program will be tangible in 1-1.5 years after the liberalization of the field. The Minister noted that the program provides creating auspicious conditions not only for foreign but domestic companies. “The government will make efforts to have a national air carrier and sphere of carriers in Armenia”, said the Minister.
