Today, the head of the State Service for Food Safety of the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture instructed the border checkpoints to sample the food products imported from Brazil, Belarus, Netherlands, USA and New Zealand, in order to determine the safety of the goods through laboratory tests.As the report of the State Service for Food Safety reads, the tests will determine the presence of colon bacillus and salmonella bacteria in food products, and the sampling will be carried out irrespective of the results based on food risk assessment criteria and accompanying documents. It should be noted that the inspection is carried out based on media reports, according to which the products imported from mentioned countries may contain colon bacillus and salmonella bacteria: particularly frozen and canned meat from Brazil, including poultry; ham and cottage cheese from Belarus; cheese from Netherlands; poultry and fish from USA and mutton from New Zealand.
