Yerevan /Mediamax/. Advisor of Russian Institute of Modern Development Nikita Maslennikov thinks completion of talks on creating a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) is “a very important step for EU and Armenia in a strategically correct direction”.The Russian expert said this in his interview to “Golos Rossii” radio station, Mediamax reports.“It will help business of both sides eliminate all the restrictions and create conditions for further development. But universal happiness won’t come at once: the path is not so short for each of the sides and it’s early to be euphoric about the document agreed upon. However, it’s a very important step for EU and Armenia in a strategically correct direction”, he said. The expert also expressed the opinion that the DCFTA will help Armenia faster and more effectively master the WTO rules.“It’s no secret that the Armenian Diaspora’s position is very strong in many EU economies. These are serious financiers and major entrepreneurs. A new window of opportunities is opening for them in the first place. I think financial inflows to Armenian economy and investment projects on its territory will be increased”, said Nikita Maslennikov. He noted that “the transition phase will take 2-3 years and then we’ll see that Armenia feels confident in its relations with EU”.
