Minister of Ecology of Armenia Aram Harutyunyan received UK Ambassador Katherine Jane Leach on June 25.

The UK Ambassador talked on Amulsar gold mine asking the Minister to support the investor company in this matter, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology reports.

The sides stressed the necessity of improving mechanisms of reducing the environmental threats caused by mining.

Aram Harutyunyan stressed the importance of the processes on Amulsar gold mine noting that relevant conditions meeting international standards should be ensured to preserve biological diversity of Jermuk town, lake Sevan and generally the surrounding areas.
