The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) continues the study of Armenia’s shale gas resources, started in 2011, the U.S. Embassy in Armenia informs.The survey is on-going and is expected to be finalized late this year, or early next year. “The US Geological Survey was here and did some work last year, and they are working on an analysis now in Washington. When we get that analysis this year we will share it with the Armenian government and the public”, U.S. Ambassador John Heffern said earlier.The shale gas, being cheаper than traditional natural gas, is gaining popularity in recent years, in particular, in U.S. and Europe.
