The General Assembly of CECODHAS Housing Europe has confirmed the Armenian ASBA Social Housing Foundation as an associate member.

Thus, Armenian organization became the first from South Europe and Former Soviet Union, which obtained permanent status with the European leading housing network, ASBA informs.

The president of CECODHAS Housing Europe, Kurt Eliasson mentioned the importance for CECODHAS to enlarge the scope of membership from EU members, candidate EU-members to all European countries. CECODHAS Housing Europe is the European Federation of national and regional social housing federations gathering public, voluntary and cooperative housing organizations. CECODHAS was established in 1988 as the European network for promotion of the right to decent housing for all.

«Associate membership of ASBA Foundation will open new opportunities for Armenian organization to benefit from rich experience of CECODHAS Housing Europe in social and affordable housing. Joining the European  Housing Federation will strengthen ASBA position in policy dialogue and capacity development in Armenia and in South Caucasus. Association with CECODHAS will enable bringing housing and social housing issues of Armenia at high level policy dialogue in Europe», - ASBA mentioned.

ASBA Foundation has been established in Armenia as Armenian-Dutch partnership in the field of social affordable housing. The main objective of the Foundation is provision of sustainable housing for low to middle income families in Armenia. ASBA Board members are prominent leaders and experts from Armenia and the Netherlands. ASBA Foundation constantly expands its network to fulfill organization’s mission through investment projects, capacity development and inclusive policy dialogue.
