Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated that "we should find the formula and more effective tools of our interaction with the Customs Union".

The PM said this in his interview published in "Moskovskie Novosti" newspaper today.

"Armenia's specifics is in that the structure of the Armenian economy strongly differs from the economic structures of the Customs Union countries where there are substantial reserves of energy resources and where the policy of protection of domestic manufacturer through rather high customs duties is pursued. On the whole, the level of duties in the Customs Union is twice more than those in Armenia. Armenia is one of the first CIS countries which became the member of the World Trade Organization and it also makes our relations with the Customs Union quite peculiar. That's why we should find a formula and more effective tools of our interaction with the Customs Union. At the same time, we have stated several times that Armenia is interested in integration process in the CIS space is ready to boost them in any ways as on the one hand, Russia is our strategic partner and on the other - it's a large and promising market and we should create favorable conditions for doing business in this space", said Tigran Sargsyan.
