The economic activity of Armenia in January-April 2012 grew by 7,2% against the same period of last year.In April the economic activity index grew by 7,5% against the same period of last year, the National Statistical Service of Armenia informed Mediamax.The volume of industrial output in January-April 2012 totaled AMD 317bln 424,9mln, having increased by 15,3% as compared to the same period of 2011.The trade turnover in January-April 2012 grew by 0,9% (AMD 534bln 840,2mln), the volume of services grew by 10,1% (AMD 284bln 828,1mln).The volume of total output grew by 1,1% against the same period of 2011 (AMD 103bln 903,3mln). The sphere of construction recorded 5,2% decrease (AMD 61bln 364,2mln).Prices for consumer and industrial production grew by 3% and 6,2% correspondingly, as compared to the same period of 2011.The average nominal salary in January-April 2012 grew by 5,3% against the same period of 2011, making AMD 115 193 ($295.8).Armenia’s foreign trade turnover during the same period made $1bln 751,4mln or AMD 681,6bln, having increased by 10,8% as compared to the same period of 2011.The export volume in January-April 2012 grew by 17,8%, making AMD 171bln or $439,5mln. The import volume during the accounting period grew by 8,7%, making AMD 510,6bln or $1bln 311,9mln.Armenia’s foreign trade deficit in January-April 2012 totaled AMD 339,6bln or $872,4mln.
