Yerevan/Mediamax/. Awarding of a number of companies was held upon the initiative of the National Institute of Standards of Armenia in Yerevan today.

There were 2 prizes set – “Grand Prix in Standardization” and “Golden Prize”, Minister of Economy of Armenia Tigran Davtyan said.

“Grand Prix” was awarded to 10 companies taking an active part in the standardization processes. “Golden Prize” was also awarded to 10 companies.

The Armenian office of the Japan Tobacco International (JTI) was the partner of the awarding ceremony.

President of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Boris Aleshin noted at the awarding ceremony that in conditions of globalization the role of standards is increasing more and more and the role of developing countries including Armenia in the process of setting international standards is growing.
