Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan discussed the issues of expanding the tax base with the members of Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia today.Tigran Sargsyan said that the government will submit a large tax package to the parliament to expand the tax base which will allow collecting AMD 101bln more in 2012 than in 2011. According to the Prime Minister, the government aims to decrease the budget deficit without reducing its expenditure share. “The only solution to the problem is collection of more taxes and for this purpose we should allot an extra income which will not jeopardize the business and will allow resolving this serious economic problem”, stated Tigran Sargsyan.Mediamax notes that Chairman of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia Arsen Ghazaryan said on October 10 that the members of the Union are ready to pay more taxes on the following conditions: abrupt reduction of shadow economy, ensuring of fair competition between economic subjects and ruling out privileges given to particular enterprises.
