A stable growth of individuals’ deposits has been registered in Armenia’s banking system in the first half year of 2011.As Mediamax was informed in the Deposit Guarantee Fund, by the end of first half year of 2011, the amount of individuals’ bank deposits grew by 15.9% as compared to the end of 2010, and the amount of guaranteed deposits grew by 7.8%.At the end of first half year of 2011, the growth of deposit amounts of individuals, who simultaneously have deposits in national and foreign currency, made over 29% as compared to late 2010.The number of depositors having guaranteed deposits has grown by 4.5%, making 1.074.371 (without taking into consideration the depositors of the former Savings Bank of USSR registered in “VTB Bank (Armenia)” CJSC). Thus, during the first half year of 2011, the dependency ratio of depositors having deposits only in national currency remained the same - 81%.According to the estimations of the Fund, over 98% of depositors don’t exceed the guaranteed amount of the deposit.
