Yerevan /Mediamax/. International Finance Corporation (IFC, member of the World Bank) presented its suggestions concerning design and construction improvements of small HPPs, functioning in Armenia. Mediamax reports that within the framework of IFC’s “Financing Stable Energy in Armenia” Program, a technical checkup was held in a few existing small HPPs, aiming at revealing and solving urgent issues. As a result of the technical checkup, suggestions were made concerning improvement of the quality of construction materials, elimination of design and construction discrepancies, as well as improvement of the electronic system. As a result of implementing these suggestions, reliable and secure use of HPPs will be provided for. Director of the Program Tigran Parvanyan said that the information, received as a result of the technical checkup, will be useful both for designing organizations and for the owners of HPPs. “As a result of implementation of IFC suggestions, efficiency of HPPs will increase, and this in its turn will contribute to the country’s energy self-sufficiency”, Tigran Parvanyan said.
