National Road Safety Council of Armenia, jointly with Coca-Cola Bottling Company Armenia, realized an educational program for schoolchildren and drivers, which aims at improving the culture of road traffic. Mediamax reports that the Director of National Council Poghos Shahinyan said today that in April-May, 2011, lectures were held in three Yerevan schools on traffic rules, manuals are printed for schoolchildren of various age groups, as well as posters, aiming at establishing corners of road safety at schools. In June, the second stage of the program is launching, within the framework of which work has been carried out with driving schools, and a manual on eco and safe driving will be issued, which will be handed out to people, receiving driving licenses. Communication Director of Coca-Cola Bottling Company Armenia Ara Brutyan informed that in all 28 countries of Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company presence, it applies “Safe and Eco Driving” program, which concerns competent operation of a car, economy of fuel and safe driving. “In 2010, as a result of application of this program, the emissions of carbon dioxide by the company’s cars reduced in 28 countries by 7800 tons, and we are happy to announce that Coca Cola Hellenic won at the competition of the best car park of Europe”, Ara Brutyan said, adding that the company will be happy to share experience with Armenian driving schools and drivers.
