The Board of Directors of the World Bank (WB) approved the decision to allocate a $39mln loan to Armenia for ensuring secure energy supply.As Mediamax was told in WB Yerevan Office, the program aims to change the 230 kilometer-long part of transmission lines built back in 1956-1958.According to assessments of “High-Voltage Electric Networks” CJSC, about 520 kilometers or 33% of 220-kilowatt transmission lines need urgent repair.The line to be changed connects the Hrazdan Thermal Power Plant with hydroelectric power plants of Vorotan Cascade and serves numerous energy suppliers in central and eastern parts of Armenia.The total amount of the project makes $52mln, $13mln of which will be allocated by the Armenian government.
