Yerevan,/Mediamax/. Exhibition, devoted to power efficiency, will take place in Yerevan on March 10-12.

The exhibition will take place within the framework of International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Stable Energy Financing Program for Armenia.

Mediamax reports that Tigran Parvanyan, the Head of the Program, informed today that modern power efficiency technologies and equipment, including heat insulators, heating equipment, conditioners, power efficient lighting systems, automated energy resource consumption systems, etc, will be presented at the exhibition.

Tigran Parvanyan stated that the exhibition aims at stimulating investments of the private sector in power efficiency systems, since as of today, Armenia imports 2/3 of its energy resources, as well as experiences lack of investments into the sphere of renewable energy.

“Armenian companies do not imagine the potential of reducing operational expenses due to investments into power efficiency, this is why this IFC program aims at establishing a stable market in Armenia for investments in the sphere of power efficiency”, Tigran Parvanyan stated, adding that to this end IFC will cooperate with banks for introduction of tools there for financing power efficiency, provide enterprises of the real sector with the necessary consultation support and in case there are promising investment programs, will also consider the chance of direct financing of companies.

IFC’s Power Efficiency Program will last till 2013. Following the results of its implementation, annual power saving at the volume of 20hectowatt-hour is planned to be achieved by 2015 in Armenia, as well as reduction of annual emissions of hotbed gasses by 70 thousand tons.
