Yerevan /Mediamax/. As of today, from about 430 thousand motor vehicles, subject to Compulsory Insurance of Third-Party Liability for Motor vehicles (CTP), only 265 thousands (65%) are insured. 

Mediamax reports that Head of Financial System and Financial Stability Policy Department of Armenian CB Vahe Vardanyan said this in Yerevan today. He informed that from 7 to10 thousand CTP agreements are concluded every day in Armenia, “and this is a good index”. 

Since the beginning of the year, insurance companies and Car Insurers’ Bureau of Armenia have registered about 700 traffic accidents, and the number of factual applications for receiving compensation made 355. 

“As of today, 120 compensations have been paid, and the average volume of the compensations makes 140 thousand AMD. These are cases, when car owners come to an agreement without calling the representative of the insurance company to the scene”, Vahe Vardanyan stated. 

Director of Car Insurer’s Bureau of Armenia Vahan Avetisyan informed that the registered number of traffic accidents is within the range of the forecasted level. “At the moment, the average number of traffic accidents, registered a day, makes 35, and the forecasted level, which was the basis for composing tariffs and sizes of compensations, made 45-50 a day”, Vahan Avetisyan stated, at that noting that when CTP policies are acquired by all car owners in Armenia, the mentioned index will become equal to the forecasted one.
