Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian described high inflation as one of the challenges of 2011. Mediamax reports that, speaking at the session of the government today, the Prime Minister stated that the decline in agricultural sphere had serious negative influence on macroeconomic indices of the past year. According to Tigran Sargsian, in case of a more favorable situation in agriculture, economic growth in Armenia would make far more than 2.6%.“Unfortunately, the natural and climatic conditions seriously damaged the agricultural sphere, and this negatively influenced the macro-economy of the country and caused high inflation – at the level of 9.4%”, the Prime Minister noted.
