From January 1, 2011, a new system will be introduced in Armenia, according to which all transport means, realizing interstate cargo transportations, should be quipped with digital tachographs, and the drivers should have digital tachograph cards. Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Armenia that Deputy Minister Artashes Avetisyan said this at the meeting with representatives of local cargo transportation companies. According to him, digital tachographs will control the schedule of drivers’ work. Artashes Avetisyan noted that the need in tachographs is based on the requirements of the agreement on “Work of employees of transport means, realizing international cargo transportations”, to which Armenia joined in 2006.
