Armenian President Serzh Sargsian received today the medal winners from secondary schools of Armenia from 2009-2010 academic year, prize winners of international competitions and winners of “Kangaroo” Math Contest. Mediamax was informed in the press service of the President that Serzh Sargsian congratulated the pupils on their achievements, noting that these achievements are important also for the country, since an educated generation is a deposit for a strong and stable state. Armenian President noted that for a country like Armenia, which has limited human and natural resources, such victories are extremely important. “We took upon ourselves the double commitment to continue and take to the end the matter, initiated by our predecessor”, the President stated. The President expressed confidence that without educated and purposeful people, Armenia has no future. Armenian President expressed readiness to answer all the questions on the present and the future of the country. As a conclusion of the meeting, Serzh Sargsian awarded the medal winners and winners of competitions and “Kangaroo” Math Contest with medals and prizes, as well as souvenirs. By the efforts of “Ayb” educational foundation and under the aegis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, for the second year on end “Kangaroo” Math Contest is being held in Armenia. In spring, 2010, 40 thousand pupils from all marzes of Armenia participated in the contest. For the first time the pilot project was organized in Artsakh as well. 8th grade pupils Edgar Minasyan (Yerevan) and Abraham Grigoryan (Ararat region, Vanashen village) became the winners of “Kangaroo-2010” contest.
