Yerevan/Mediamax/. Central Bank (CB) Board of Armenia made a decision to increase refinancing rate by 0.25 percentage points today, establishing it at the level of 7.25%.Mediamax was informed in the press service of CB that inflation in the amount of 1,3% was registered in April, 2010, as compared to March, as a result of which inflation index made 6,8% in a year.CB Board stated that as a result of a gradual toughening of monetary-credit policy, inflation rates in a year gradually reduce. At the same time, in terms of positive developments in global economy, it is expected that the renewal of integral demand, as well as increase of tariffs for utility services in April, inflation background will be preserved in forecast horizon, though the rates of twelve-month inflation are in process of reduction.CB Board believes that in terms of registered macroeconomic prospects, toughening of monetary-credit policy should be carried out with slower speeds, to form and preserve positive real rates in the market during the entire forecast period.
