Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian government will continue negotiations on attracting new loans. Mediamax reports that Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian said this, speaking at the session of the government in Yerevan today. He stated that the government will attract loans, which will stimulate economic growth and will be repaid at the expense of the profit of economic entities. As an example, Tigran Sargsian mentioned the new power plant of Yerevan Thermal Power Plant, in order to construct which the government attracted $247mln from external sources. “All $247mln will be repaid by the Thermal Power Plant itself, since this debt was included in the estimation of the power plant prime cost, consequently, the debt load is not on the state budget”, Tigran Sargsian stated. He noted that according to estimations of the Armenian Ministry of Finance, $800mln from the means, attracted by the government and directed at crisis preventive measures, are maintained by the private sector, since they were placed in companies and banks in the form of credits. According to him, the government should carry out a more active policy on stimulating economic growth and diversifying economy, aiming at minimizing the influence of external risks on macroeconomic indices of Armenia.
