Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian reminded today that the list of largest enterprises, obliged to publicize their financial reports and the conclusions of the external auditor by the end of the year, was published on April 1. Mediamax reports that, speaking at the session of the government, Tigran Sargsian stated that the list included companies, the turnover of which exceeded 1bln AMD in 2009. “For the first time we are starting a process of control over the reporting of large enterprises in the country”, the Prime Minister stated. Tigran Sargsian said that he agrees to criticism addressed to the Armenian government concerning weak work over controlling the activity of big business. According to him, it is inadmissible for large companies to evade paying taxes, “this weakens the basis of the state and slows down development of small and medium enterprise (SME)”. Armenian Prime Minister ordered the Ministry of Finance to publish results of their analytical research within a month. In particular, the Ministry should hold a comparative analysis of financial indices of big business and SME in 2009. “There are doubts in the society, according to which in the crisis year the main tax burden was put on small and medium enterprise and not on the big ones, and we should shatter all doubts concerning this”, Tigran Sargsian stated. Armenian Prime Minister also stated that the draft on making amendments into the law on “Taxes” requires urgent approval. According to him, in the process of control over the financial activity of large enterprises, the information from third parties is quite important, since it allows carrying out a correct analysis.
