Yerevan/Mediamax/.  I do not expect a second wave of the global financial-economic crisis, although in the global market there are still serious risks, EBRD President Thomas Mirow stated.

Mediamax reports that, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan on Thursday, Thomas Mirow stated that in order to revive economies, many governments in the world have taken up abrupt fiscal stimulation, central banks have started pouring a large amount of additional liquidity in economy, “and this so far allows being sure that the global economy has entered the stage of self-sufficient growth”.

Commenting on the actions of the Armenian CB in conditions of the crisis, Thomas Mirow stated that “the Armenian Central Bank carried out good work, taking devaluation of AMD under control”, positively assessing also the current efforts of CB on dedollarization of the Armenian financial system.

“There is still lack of long money in economies, the volumes of transboundary capital flows will not reach the pre-crisis volume in the nearest future, thus, both as to Armenia and as to many other countries, I forecast return to economic growth, but not at the degree we have seen previously”, Thomas Mirow stated.

According to him, while visiting Armenia, he saw the striving of authorities to diversify the country’s economy in order to be less vulnerable because of fluctuations in the global market, and offered the Armenian President and the Prime Minister assistance of the European bank in reaching the set task.
