Yerevan. /Mediamax/. According to Gallup survey, 53% of Armenian respondents prefer to keep their savings in national currency. Mediamax reports referring the research of Gallup, carried out in 15 post-soviet countries, answering the question on which currency is the more profitable and reliable in terms of keeping savings – the national currency, USD or EUR, 14% of the polled in Armenia preferred USD, and 18% - EUR. At that, as to the degree of preferring national currency for keeping savings, Armenia occupied the 3rd place in the survey, yielding to Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, the faith of the residents of which in their national currencies makes respectively 79% and 69%. As to the degree of faith in USD, Armenia occupied the 7th place, and as to the degree of faith in EUR – the 8th place. “Residents of Armenia and Kazakhstan still exhibit more faith in their own currencies than any other asked about -- even though they've seen their local legal tender lose value this year”, Gallup research reads.
