Yerevan /Mediamax/. In the course of the latest few weeks, Armenian CB realized large-scale interventions in the market, directing $150mln from external resources to deter natural devaluation of AMD.

Mediamax reports that the statement of the Economic Committee of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) reads this.

“In the course of the recent days, after means of the population, saved for the New Year expenses, entered circulation, only in a few days AMD appreciated for over 15 points in the already dollarized market”, ANC reports, accounting this by the fact that “the authorities have done everything for securing the opportunity for oligarchs to purchase cheap foreign currency, in one case at the expense of state resources, and in the other case at the expense of the populations’ savings”.

ANC expressed confidence that as a result of such a policy carried out by CB, in the nearest future abrupt devaluation of AMD will take place, which will have a “new baneful influence on the economy”.

ANC statement reads that “the economic and financial policy of Armenia serves personal enrichment of the oligarchic power, aggravating the consequences of the crisis for the country even more”.
