Yerevan /Mediamax/. Construction of the ropeway to Tatev Monastery has already started.

Mediamax reports that Executive Director of the National Competitiveness Fund of Armenia (NCFA) Pegor Papazyan said this in Yerevan today. In the nearest future, the projecting works on restoring the Monastery Complex will also be initiated. The start of the Complex restoration is planned for fall, 2010.

Executive Director of NCFA informed that at present, the Council works over a program for tourism planning for the south of Armenia and Lake Sevan Basin.

Speaking on the program of creating a nuclear medicine center in Armenia, Pegor Papazyan informed that a group of French medics and domestic investors have expressed readiness to invest in the project over $10mln EUR.

Pegor Papazyan also informed on the progress, marked in the program, realized under the aegis of NCFA on setting up Science and Education Competitiveness Center of Armenia. According to NCFA Executive Director, an agreement is reached on providing the Center with territories. “Partially the Center will start functioning already next year”, Pegor Papazyan stated.

Talking about the process of realizing a program on constructing an advanced telecommunication network all over the territory of Armenia, Pegor Papazyan informed that a company is chosen, which will help elaborate the technical task, basing on which tenders will be realized aiming at attracting large international companies to building the network. NCFA Executive Director informed that they plan to realize the program in the course of 4 years, and one of its main goals will be to secure efficient communications between the state and the private sector on the entire territory of the country and implementation of electronic management everywhere in the state structures in Armenia.

Pegor Papazyan also informed that on November 5, NCFA’s presentation will take place in Californian Berkley University, as well as presentation of programs, aiming at increasing Armenia’s competitiveness. “The goal of the presentation will be attracting investments into priority spheres in the Armenian economy”, Pegor Papazyan stated, adding that such presentations are planned to be held also in other countries with large Armenian communities.
