Yerevan /Mediamax/. Board of the Central Bank (CB) of Armenia made a decision at its today’s session to leave the refinancing rate unchanged, approving it at the level of 5.00%. Mediamax was informed in the press service of CB that in September, 2009, as compared to August, there was 0.7% inflation registered, and the 12 months’ inflation index, having increased by 0.2 percentage points, made 3.7%. CB Board stated that in external environment, there are moderate inflationary pressures being formed, the fact being conditioned by expectations for continuation of price growth tendencies for raw materials and certain foodstuffs in the world market. “These developments, which take place simultaneously with stabilization of real GDP, to certain extent have stirred up also the domestic inflation environment”, CB Board noted. CB Board, expecting further increase of economic activity, finds that the current level of refinancing rate at most contributes to soon reestablishment of economy, without endangering at that the stability of prices.
