Yerevan /Mediamax/. Volume of deposits, attracted by Armenian commercial banks as of the end of May, 2009, made 528bln 933mln AMD, having increased as compared to April for 2bln 542mln AMD. At that, in April, as compared to March, the volume of deposits in the Armenian banking system had reduced for 20bln 402mln AMD. As Mediamax was informed in the National Statistical Service, the volume of residents’ deposits made at the end of May made 427 022mln AMD, having increased as compared to April for 2bln 652mln AMD, while deposits of non-residents in the accounting period reduced by 110mln, making 101bln 911mln AMD. At that, in late May, as compared to March, deposits of residents increased for 1bln 812mln AMD, and deposits of non-residents reduced for 19bln 672mln AMD. The volume of deposits in foreign currency as of the end of May made 381bln 553mln AMD (72.1% of the total sum of deposits), and in national currency – 147bln 380mln AMD (27.9%). The remainder on deposits in banks at the end of May, 2009, made 232 844mln AMD, having increased as compared to the previous month by 2.3%, and as compared to the same period of 2008 - by 19%.
