Yerevan /Mediamax/. Special session of the Armenian National Assembly started its work in Yerevan. Mediamax reports that the Armenian government presented loan agreements with the World Bank (WB) at the sum of $24mln and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the sum of $150mln to the consideration of the parliament. Presenting in third reading the draft loan agreement with WB, Minister of Science and Education of Armenia Armen Ashotyan stated that they plan to use the loan means to realize educational reforms within the framework of WB Education Program. According to him, one of the program components is formation of a general network of secondary schools in Armenia and promotion of information technologies at schools. The second component, according to the Minister, is implementation of a student crediting program. Armen Ashotyan stated that the given program will allow the state assisting students from financially non-secure families. The Minister of Science of Education noted that Armenian government attaches importance to continuance of education, and in conditions of the crisis, implementation of a student crediting program will allow not only keeping adherent to the strategy of maintaining the present level, but also taking the course of developing of the country’s educational system.
