The volume of deposits, attracted by commercial banks of Armenia as of the end of February, 2009, made 487bln 514mln AMD, having increased, as compared to January, for 20bln 533mln AMD. As Mediamax was told in the National Statistical Service, the volume of residents’ deposits made at the end of February 396bln 953mln AMD, having increased, as compared to January, for 14bln 634mln AMD, and the deposits of non-residents in the accounting period increased by 5bln 899mln, making 90bln 561mln AMD. The volume of deposits in foreign currency as of the end of February made 327bln 379mln AMD, having increased as compared to January for 64bln 272mln AMD. The volume of deposits in national currency in the same period reduced for 43bln 739mln AMD, making at the end of February 160bln 134mln AMD. The remainder on deposits in banks as of the end of February, 2009, made 202 794mln AMD, having increased as compared to January by 2%, and as compared to the same period of 2008 – by 17.5%. At that, the remainder on the population’s time deposits in banks made at the end of February 154bln 407mln AMD, having increased as compared to January by 2.2%, and as compared to the same period of 2008 – by 36.2%. Credit portfolio of commercial banks of Armenia as of the end of February, 2009, made 612bln 087mln AMD, having reduced as compared to January for 6bln 404mln AMD. The volume of credits, provided by banks in foreign currency, as of the end of February made 251bln 001mln AMD (growth as compared to January made 12bln 966mln AMD) and in national currency – 361bln 086mln AMD (reduction as compared to January – 19bln 371mln AMD).
