Yerevan /Mediamax/. Volume of deposits, attracted by commercial banks of Armenia as of the end of January, 2009, made 466bln 981mln AMD, having increased as compared to December, 2008, for 1bln 091mln AMD. As Mediamax was told in the National Statistical Service, the volume of residents’ deposits as of the end of January made 382bln 319mln AMD, having cut down as compared to December for 5bln 527mln AMD, while non-residents’ deposits in the accounting period increased for 6bln 618mln AMD, making 84bln 662mln AMD. The volume of deposits in foreign currency as of the end of January made 263bln 107mln AMD, having increased as compared to December, 2008, for 24bln 667mln AMD. At the same time, the volume of deposits in national currency cut down in the same period for 23bln 577mln, making as of the end of January 203bln 873mln AMD. The remainder at deposits in banks as of January 31, 2009, made 198bln 828mln AMD, having cut down as compared to December, 2008, by 1.5% and increased as compared to the same period of 2008 by 17%.
