The Armenian-licensed investment company Apricot Capital, organized a course aimed at increasing financial literacy and developing investment culture in Armenia, especially for media representatives.

Investing in the stock market is rapidly expanding worldwide. However, this practice is still not well-developed in Armenia, primarily due to a lack of awareness.

According to Vachik Gevorgyan, executive director of Apricot Capital, the work and involvement of mass media is also crucrial in raising awareness.

“One of Apricot Capital's goals is to spread and make investment tools available, creating a platform that enables individuals to make their own investments and effectively manage their savings. In the context of awareness, the role of mass media is very important. That's why we decided to initiate this course, share interesting information and, of course, listen to journalists' opinions to understand what we can do together, how we can cooperate to achieve the above-mentioned goals”.

“Vachik Gevorgyan discussed Armenia's position on the investment map, provided insights into leading investment markets, countries, and companies, shared current investment trends, and touched on topics, regarding the fintech sector, which has been a topic of recent discussion, digital transformation trends, and their impact on investments”.

Apricot Capital account manager, Tatevik Karapetyan presented common myths about investments, discussed the associated risks and opportunities, and explained how to effectively manage one's funds and make competent investments.

Ruzanna Kirakosyan, Product Manager of Apricot Capital, explained in detail what the Apricot Capital mobile application is, how it works and how to use it. She also talked about the popular margin trading. Additionally, she touched on media literacy, one of the important topics these days, and mentioned reliable sources to obtain information about the financial sector.
Course participants had the opportunity to use a demo user account in the Apricot Capital application, invest with virtual money with their own experience, purchase securities, and stay updated on market news.

Journalists asked the speakers their pressing questions about the investment industry, discussed how to raise awareness and what could contribute to making the media community more interested in the changes taking place in the field.

Vachik Gevorgyan, executive director of Apricot Capital, also mentioned that similar meetings will be continuous and will attract larger audiences and specialists to discuss the sector more frequently and keep pace with the development of international trends.
At the end of the training, media representatives took part in a small quiz to test their knowledge and received surprise gifts.
