The park of the Armenian national air carrier “Armavia” will soon be replenished## by new plane Boeing 777 or Airbus 330 to realize direct air communication between Armenia and the USA. Mediamax reports that the owner of the airline, President of “Mika-Limited” Company Mikhail Baghdasarov said this in Yerevan today. “Armavia” regular flights Yerevan-Los Angeles and Yerevan-New York will be launched in April, 2009. Answering the question of the reason of insignificant reduction of prices for air tickets in Armenia against significant decrease of prices for fuel in the world markets, Mikhail Baghdasarov expressed an opinion that the prices for air tickets will cut down soon. He noted that so far “Armavia” purchases 1 ton of aircraft kerosene for $1460; however in Europe and Russia a ton of aircraft kerosene costs the airlines, respectively, $800 and $1100. Mikhail Baghdasarov informed on soon decrease of prices for petrol in Armenia, explaining that at present the exporters sell their stocks, purchased during August events in Georgia. Answering the question on the influence of the global financial-economic crisis on “Armavia”, the entrepreneur stated that the company not only avoids the effect of negative influences, but it also actively develops. At that, Mikhail Baghdasarov expressed an opinion that the crisis will have a strong effect on the Armenian economy in spring, 2009, and criticized the actions of the government on toughening tax administration instead of reducing the taxes. “Armenia is absolutely unattractive for foreign investments”, Mikhail Baghdasarov stated.
