Yerevan /Mediamax/. “Rosgosstrakh-Armenia” has an intention to become the leader of the country’s insurance market## in the course of the nearest 2-3 years, the President of “Rosgosstrakh” Group of Enterprises Danil Khachaturov stated.

Mediamax reports that Danil Khachaturov said this on October 16 at a news conference, timed to the official opening of a subsidiary company in Armenia.

According to the President of “Rosgosstrakh” Group, the economic growth speeds in Armenia are quite high; however, insurance culture is almost not developed at all. “Consequently, the sooner we come here, the more chances we will have to take a large share of the market”, Danil Khachaturov stated.

Talking about the further plans of the Company in Armenia, Danil Khachaturov stated that “Rosgosstrakh-Armenia” intends to get involved in pension insurance and life insurance.

Executive Director of “Rosgosstrakh-Armenia” Gagik Grigoryan informed that the volume of the insurance market in Armenia makes approximately $20mln, $5-$6mln of which fall on the share of aircraft insurance, and the remaining - transport, property and voluntary medical insurance.

Gagik Grigoryan noted that 0,4% of all existing risks are insured in Armenia.

“Rosgosstrakh-Armenia” Company received the license of the Armenian CB in May, 2008. The authorized capital stock of the Company makes 500mln AMD ($1,6mln).

With the appearance of “Rosgosstrakh-Armenia”, the number of insurance companies in Armenia reached 11. As of July 1, 2008, the total volume of insurance premiums of 10 insurance companies made 4.5bln AMD ($14.7mln).
