Yerevan /Mediamax/. 11 Armenian banks forecast growth of interest rates for short-term deposits## in AMD by the end of the year; the remaining banks believe that the rates will not change. Mediamax reports that the statistic report of the Armenian Central Bank (CB) following the results of quarterly poll among banks and credit organizations of the country, reads this. According to the report, 12 banks believe that the rates for short-term deposits in foreign currency will not change; the remaining banks expect their growth. As to long-term AMD deposits, 13 banks forecast growth, and 9 – an unchanged level of deposit rates. According to expectations of banks, the volume of attracted deposits by the end of the year will increase for 41bln AMD. The growth of deposits in March, 2009, as compared to September, 2008, will make 72bln AMD, according to the expectations of banks.
