Yerevan /Mediamax/. Since May 2007 Armenian Central Bank## (CBA) is a member of “Egmont” group, in the framework of which the financial intelligence services of member countries are exchanging information and joining efforts to struggle against money-laundering and terrorism financing, stated today head of the Center of financial monitoring of CBA Daniel Azatyan. As Mediamax reports, Azatyan noted that currently Armenian CB is the guarantor of Kazakhstan’s and Iran’s membership in the Egmont group. “One of the last countries to enter the group was Moldova”, - mentioned Azatyan, and added that out of South Caucasus countries Azerbaijan is not a member of the group as “ the country does not have relevant law and, accordingly, relevant structures to handle financial intelligence services”. As of Azatyan, currently CBA has partnership agreements with financial intelligence services of Russia, Belarus, Georgia and the Ukraine. Signing of the agreement with China is in process.
