Yerevan /Mediamax/. 80% of trade in Armenia takes place at fairs, bypassing the tax field, Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian stated## in Yerevan today. Mediamax reports that, speaking at the meeting with the heads of large fairs and markets of Armenia, Tigran Sarkisian stated hat the government will not tolerate the present situation, when the fairs have become a place, where one can easily evade taxes. The Prime Minister demanded that control-cash machines be placed at all fairs in Armenia. “There will be a single network established, and it will unite all the control-cash machines, placed at fairs and in the markets”, Tigran Sarkisian stated. The Prime Minister noted that by August 15 of 2008, the markets and fairs should conclude new agreements with their tenants. The agreements should include new terms for organization of trade, and by October 1, control-cash machines, integrated into a single network, should be placed at all fairs. “We cannot struggle against shadow economy, if we do not solve the given problem”, Tigran Sarkisian stressed.
