Yerevan /Mediamax/. “Unibank” summed up the results of its activity for the first half of 2008##, noting that the registered speeds of growth leave the general indices of Armenia’s banking system behind.

As Mediamax was told in the press service of “Unibank”, the growth of volumes of the bank’s assets made 39%, exceeding 2,6 times the growth of total assets of the banking system of Armenia.

The share of “Unibank” in the total assets of the banking sector made 7% ($211mln), as compared to the 5,8%, registered last year. As to this index, the bank occupied the fifth place among Armenian commercial banks, having improved its last year’s position for two points.

“Unibank” also occupied the fifth place in the general rating of Armenia’s banks as to the volume of credit investments, having secured 7.7% ($137mln) in the total volume of banking crediting.

The growth of deposits attracted from the population made 28%, while for the country’s whole banking system the given index made 13%, and the averaged index as to the leading banks makes 18%. The share of “Unibank” in the total volume of deposits of the whole banking sector made 9,1% ($153mln).

The growth on term deposits of individuals made 28%, while for the country’s total banking system the given index made 19%. About 20% ($101,3mln) from the total volume of individuals’ term deposits falls on the share of “Unibank”.
