European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi stated in Yerevan today that they have brought an economic and financial investment program as a gift for Armenia to overcome the post-pandemic crisis.“We are ready to realize the investment for Armenia’s economic recovery as soon as possible. We worked on this program together with the government of Armenia. As a result, economic growth and job creation must be ensured as soon as possible after the epidemic, since Armenia and its people need jobs and economic growth,” said Oliver Varhelyi. He noted that the program includes 5 priority areas through which the country will have a more resilient economy in the next 4-5 years.“The program includes transport connectivity, rehabilitation of southern regions, energy efficiency and renewable energy, digital transformation and SME support. We have consolidated €2.6 billion for all this in Armenia. I think this program creates a serious opportunity for Armenia. I am hopeful that we can work actively with the Armenian government to make this a reality. We have 4 years to ensure the results,” the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement said.
