Candidate for the position of the Chairman of Armenian Central Bank, Acting Deputy Chairman## of the CB Artur Javadyan made a speech for the deputies of the National Assembly today. Mediamax reports that, speaking in the parliament, Artur Javadyan stressed that in the modern world, Central Banks can function efficiently only in case they are independent and depoliticized. Deputy Chairman of the CB noted that he will take up all the efforts for the Central Bank to fully assist realization of the ambitious programs of the Armenian government.According to Javadyan, the main task of all the Central Banks is securing stability of prices, and the Armenian CB consistently realizes gradual increase of the interest rates, striving to limit the growth of prices. However, the CB Chairman candidate stated, it is difficult to struggle against growth of prices exclusively with the use of financial-credit tools, and to reach the desired results, the close cooperation of the CB, the government and the parliament are necessary. Artur Javadyan noted the two main directions, in which the activity of the regulator of the financial market will be realized: integration of the financial system of Armenia into international markets and the formation of infrastructures, securing global competition among financial organizations. Deputy Chairman of the Armenian CB highlighted the necessity of reforms in the spheres of insurance and securities. Artur Javadyan spoke for the necessity to form a secondary market of mortgage crediting by means of setting up a state mortgage fund within the CB, which will assist the decrease of interest rates and prolongation of credit provision terms.
