Yerevan /Mediamax/. Executive Vice-President of “VimpelCom” OJSC Dmitri Pleskonos stated today that “we have the full right to work under our trademark in the territory of Armenia and we are glad that now there is legal basis to add the republic to the single “Beeline” territory.

“At present, we face the task of realizing a rebranding and making all the processes of “ArmenTel” correspond to the single standards of “VimpelCom” Group”, Dmitri Pleskonos stated.

Mediamax reports that “VimpelCom” Group announced today that on February 25 the Agency of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Armenia made a decision on registering a license agreement between “VimpelCom” OJSC and “ArmenTel” CJSC on transferring authority for using “Beeline” trademark, as well as the slogan “Live on the bright side!” to be used in the territory of Armenia.

“This means that, starting from the mentioned date, “ArmenTel” CJSC can use the given trademark in Armenia on legal basis”, Mediamax was told in the press service of “VimpelCom”.

In January 2008, the Cassation Court of Armenia confirmed the validity of the international registrations of “Beeline” trademark concerning communication services in the territory of Armenia. Right after receiving the decision of the court, “VimpelCom” started the procedure of registering the transfer of authority for using its trademarks of “ArmenTel” CJSC in Armenia.
